Virtual Labs

phet login

Phet provides fun, interactive, and free science-based research and math simulations. We test and evaluate each simulation extensively to ensure educational effectiveness. These tests include student interviews and observation that all simulations are used in the open source classroom (see our source code). Phet is also supported by several sponsors, enabling these The resource is to be free for all students and teachers.

  1. Interactive simulation: (physics - chemistry - mathematics - earth sciences - biology).
  2. 158 interactive simulations.
  3. 93 language translations.
  4. 2307 lessons provided by the teacher.
  5. Available in Arabic.

Onlinelabs aims to serve as a comprehensive encyclopedic reference on online laboratories on a variety of topics, particularly laboratory simulations for science education. We compile helpful lists of online lab simulations, virtual science experiments, and free tutorials. We currently offer resources in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology; To help learners locate free and commercial virtual science labs, we also provide online educational resources and information about simulation and free software in anatomy, geology, astronomy, design, and mathematics.

With these online resources, you can get hands-on experience in science and math without ever having to set foot in a classroom or lab environment.

Online labs in (Chemistry - Physics - Biology - Anatomy - Geology - Astronomy - Design - Mathematics):

  1. Chemistry laboratories, including general chemistry and organic chemistry.
  2. Physics laboratories, including condensed matter and particle physics.
  3. Biology laboratories, including microscopy, genetics and life sciences.
  4. Anatomy laboratories, including physiology and anatomy.
  5. Geology laboratories, including earth sciences and earth sciences.
  6. Astronomy laboratories, including space sciences.

Objectives:

  1. Providing remote access to laboratories in various disciplines of science and engineering, and these virtual laboratories will meet the needs of students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as researchers.

  2. Motivating students to conduct experiments by arousing their curiosity, and this would help them learn basic and advanced concepts through remote experiments.

  3. Provide a complete learning management system around virtual labs, where students can benefit from various tools for learning, including additional web resources, video lectures, animated presentations, and self-assessment.

  4. Sharing costly equipment and resources, which are otherwise available to a limited number of users due to time and geographic distance limitations.

Features:

  • Virtual labs will provide students with the result of the experiment in one of the following ways, or perhaps a combination of them.
  1. Modeling the physical phenomenon through a set of equations, and running simulations to get the result of the particular experiment, and this can, at best, provide an approximate version of the real experiment.
  2. Provide the measured data for virtual laboratory experiments corresponding to data previously obtained through measurements on an actual system.
  3. Run a remote experiment in a real lab, and provide students with the results of the experiment through a computer interface, and this requires the implementation of a remote laboratory experiment.
  • Virtual labs will become more effective and realistic by providing additional inputs to students such as audio and video streaming accompaniment to actual lab experiment and equipment.
